Mommy, Daddy and Me

I LOVE laying on Daddy's chest. It's one of my favorite places in the whole wide world.

One of Mommy's favorite times is snuggling after bathtime. We just stare at each other intently for a long time, then we read a book.

Abede came to play & Kelsey's first visit to Daddy's office

My friend, Abede, and I go all the way back to Mel-Hi physics class. He was in St. Louis for a conference and came to meet Kelsey. They had a great time playing. It was hilarious watching them take turns sticking out their tongues. I think the game went on for several minutes. Too cute!

Kelsey also made her first of many visits to Daddy's office. As usual, she was a hit with all of Daddy's coworkers! She's such a charmer and even if tired, always seems to "rally" and wake up to be social.

Kelsey is doing more and more everyday. She's got great head control, rolls over easily, smiles a lot and now is very interested in toys. Here she's grabbing a toy on her own....... We love watching her change!!! Apparently so does Mocha ;)

First Road Trip!!!

Adam had a meeting in Indianapolis, IN and since my Uncle Kevin, Aunt Colleen and cousins Kyle and Meghan live there, we decided to take Kelsey on her first road trip. It was over 4 hours and she did fantastic!! She actually stayed awake more in the car than either of us thought, but she was content to look around and "sing" to herself. Kelsey LOVED meeting her great aunt and uncle and cousins. Everyone loved holding her and making her smile. Kelsey even slept great on her first sleepover. And EVEN better - since she was so entertained with her extended family she stayed awake so much that on her first night home, she slept over 8 1/2 hours letting mommy sleep for her first 7 hour stretch of sleep in many MANY months! WOO HOO!!! She can't wait to go to Florida to meet even more family and friends!

Loving Life

Kelsey loved meeting her Great Aunt Debbie and Uncle Mark. They came all the way from California to meet her! We all had a great time hanging out (Bella too) and going to dinner! We love it when we have visitors!! :)

Kelsey and I had a great time spoiling Adam on his first Father's Day. We went to breakfast and Kelsey "saw" her first movie. Then while I cooked him dinner, Kelsey enjoyed extra snuggle time with Daddy. Adam is such a natural, loving father!! As always, he is incredible and Kelsey just LOVES her daddy!!!

Sound Machine Heaven (why didn't I listen earlier to all of you??!!??)----thanks to the new sound machine and a tight swaddle, I can safely say that Kelsey is "sleeping through the night" and actually has been for several weeks. I'm told that since she's sleeping 5+ hours at a time, that's considered sleeping through the night. I beg to differ, but that's just me. Last night she went 8 1/2 hours at one time between feedings!! You would think that I would be a fairly well rested new mommy, but alas, if she goes longer than her 5-6 hour stretches, I wake up wondering when she'll wake up and feel the need to check on her. I'm hoping that I'll be able to relax a bit more and "sleep when she sleeps" as everyone keeps telling me!

During the day, we enjoy tummy time, reading books, and singing! I also love to dress her in all of the adorable clothes we've been given!! We've gone on a few errand outings and I definitely have to bulk up my arm strength with how heavy the carseat is already!

Uncle Eric, Papa, and Great Grandfather, Papa Nano came to visit. ONE month old-WOW!

Meeting Grandma and Poppy

Adam's parents, Les and Elayne, came all the way from South Florida to visit and meet their third granddaughter. Kelsey loved her snuggle time with Grandma and Poppy! We took her to her first two lunches out and her first tour of downtown. It was her longest "road trip" thus far though she slept through most of it. We've been told many times that this is the best time to go out to eat and do things and now that Kelsey's a bit older we've been taking advantage of how she can sleep pretty much anywhere. She loved being out of the house and spending time with her grandparents!!

Our Chunky Monkey (4 wks old)

We took Kelsey to her 4 week check up and she is doing fantastic!! She gained 18 oz in thirteen days and is now up to 8 lbs 9.5 oz!!!! Have we mentioned she LOVES to eat??!!?? Kelsey has made many new friends and had lots of visitors. Brett and Leah joined us for Kelsey's first meal out of the house (well, sorta) and of course it was brunch -YUM!! Lisa came by for some snuggle time, too. Felicia and Steve also came by for some QT with Kelsey and then Bob, Sharon and Bryce were part of the party for her first lunch out. Kelsey loved meeting everyone!

Kelsey has been getting a steady stream of presents since we got home and we are so thankful..... it's like the 20+ days of Chanukah!! :) I've included a few shots of her in her many adorable new pink outfits. Most of you know that I'm not a huge fan of pink, but on Kelsey it's adorable. Thank you notes are on their way......takes a little longer these days :) Kelsey has been rolling over from belly to side consistently and her head control is fantastic! We are so proud of our little munchkin!
